When I was a kid we didn't have a washer. I'm not telling you this because I want you to feel sorry for me - we did have a dryer, after all :) But, since we didn't have a washing machine, we had to take our laundry to the laundromat every Saturday morning - early! While the clothes were washing, we did some window shopping and I was particularly attracted to the window at the jewellery store. In addition to necklaces and earrings, they also had these furry koalas with ribbon bows around their necks. They came in different sizes and different coloured bows and I wanted one oh so badly! They looked like this:
I never did get one of those bears, but I can have one now in the One World quilt. The ones I looked at were brown and furry, but the little one hiding in the tree in Block 1 is just as cute.
If you always wanted a koala, but never got one, sign up as a Quilter to the One World Quilt Along and you'll have a koala with you always.
