Telecast Thursday - Irons in the Chatterbox Quilts Studio

It's hot in the studio today and it's not due to the temperature, it's due to the topic! This Telecast Thursday I'm discussing my favourite irons. 

There are tons of choices when it comes to irons and you can spend $$$ to get "the right one". I've made do for years with a normal iron that you'd use to press clothes, but bought a more specialized one a few years ago.

The whimsical designs in Jan's book, Dressed to Chill, make delightful holiday decorations. If you love snowmen, this book is a must for your holiday library.

Christmas Cats and Dogs by Janet Kime

One of the first quilting books my parents gave me was Christmas Cats and Dogs. Lots of different paper-pieced projects in this seasonal book and it's filled with both cats and dogs - what's not to love?

Telecast Thursday - First Look at the Janome Artistic Edge cutter

Welcome to another Telecast Thursday! This week I'm sharing my first impressions of my latest tool: the Janome Artistic Edge digital cutter.

Thanks to Janome Canada, I have a new toy, er tool, in my quilt studio and am enjoying learning and playing with the Janome Artistic Edge. I love the large 15" x 15" mat that came with it and the fact that this particular model is wireless. It's very quiet and fast when it cuts. 

I'm using the Artistic Edge to cut the appliqué shapes in some of the blocks in the One World Quilt Along (if you haven't joined us in this online quilt along, I hope you will). I love how easily and accurately it cuts these intricate shapes.
